We have captured aerial images of the construction and demolition of some of Atlanta’s most iconic sports stadiums. Additionally, we have been tasked with photographing the Atlanta Falcons training camp for the last several years.
During construction of the Georgia Dome, there were some key events that the general contractors wanted to capture. The most significant included the placement of the roof-ring, which gave the Dome its dome.
Nearly 28 years later, we were in the air capturing aerial images of the Georgia Dome demolition. It was situated alongside the new Mercedes Benz Center (home to the Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta United FC). It was sad to see the Dome go, but it was thrilling to watch the implosion from the air.
We have photographed several major sports facilities in the Atlanta area. In 1996, we captured aerial images of the construction of Centennial Olympic Stadium. Other notable stadium projects include the conversion of Turner Field in Georgia State Stadium, the implosion of Fulton County Stadium, the construction of Phillips Arena, Suntrust Field, and Mercedes Benz Stadium.
